If you’re not convinced that blogging could benefit your business, check out the results from HubSpot’s Marketing Benchmarks from 7,000+ Businesses report.

Last August, HubSpot.com conducted a survey of 1,531 customers, all small to medium sized businesses. 795 businesses blogged. 736 did not. Those that blog have 55% more visitors to their sites, 97% more inbound links (links from other sites to theirs) and 434% more indexed pages (pages recognized and cached by search engines).

In addition to these findings, we’ve pulled 6 more startling statistics from HubSpot’s report that may change your mind about how important it is for your business to blog and the astonishing impact blogging can have on your website traffic and leads.

1. A Little Work Generates a lot of Leads

B2B companies that blog only 1-2x/month generate 70% more leads than those that don't blog.

If your company currently isn’t blogging but doesn’t have the time or resources to write more than 1 or 2 blogs per month, don’t let that discourage you from getting the ball rolling. Blogging just a couple times per month will help you to generate 70% more leads than companies that don’t blog.

What the graph below is telling you is that there is a direct relationship between monthly blog posts and new inbound leads. Once you generate enough content to pass the 15 blogs per month threshold, you are likely to experience even greater increases in the number of website leads.

2.  Double This, Double That

Companies that increase blogging from 3-5x/month to 6-8x/month almost double their leads.

Maybe your business already has the ball rolling, generating 3 to 5 posts per month. By adding just a few more, there’s potential to double your leads.

3. Rush Hour Traffic = Bad. Website Traffic = Good.

Companies that blog 15 or more times per month get 5x more traffic than companies that don't.

Increasing traffic to your website is always a great goal to have.  Blogging is one way to achieve that goal. If you really want to experience increased traffic to your site, consider pumping out 15 or more blog posts every month.

4. Big Gains for Small Businesses

Small businesses (1 to 10 employees) tend to see the biggest gains in traffic when they post more articles.

Do you own a small business? Are you worried about low traffic rates to your site? Start posting!

Inbound traffic is visitors finding your website, the more people that visit your website the more likely you are to generate business. One way to drive traffic to your website, without paying for it, is to create interesting content (blog posts) to draws people to your website. They find you!

5. Just Keep Writing, Just Keep Writing

An average company will see a 45% growth in traffic when increasing total blog articles from 11-20 to 21-50 articles.

If your business has the power to allocate more resources to generating more posts, you will be handsomely rewarded with more traffic according the the results of the HubSpot study.

6. There’s Strength in Article Numbers

B2C companies see a 59% increase in traffic after growing total blog articles from 100 to 200 total.

Creating a strong article base takes time and effort. It doesn’t happen overnight. But striving to reach a 100+ article benchmark that you can continue to expand upon is likely to reward you when analyzing your website traffic data.

So whether your business has never posted a single blog or you’re well on your way towards 200 articles, there are benefits to be reaped from every additional post you make.
