General contractor, McLeRoy, Inc., bases everything they do on three things: integrity, quality, and hard work. Their outdated website, though, straight up did not reflect any of those things…
With a claim to nearly 50 years experience in heavy civil construction and land development, McLeRoy has built a solid reputation in their region for providing top notch general construction services — they just needed a website that could wow prospects with an undeniable portrayal of their impressive abilities. McLeRoy was also feeling the strain of finding quality employees, so they wanted to step up their online recruitment abilities with a simple online application form. Even more, they own rental properties as well as a realty business, so they needed a central hub to maintain all of these moving pieces of their business in a way that made sense to their visitors and prospects — it was time to demolish the old site and develop a new one that could do all this magic for them. That’s where MayeCreate comes in…
From the very beginning, when Johnny McLeRoy built houses based on a handshake and a sketch on a napkin, the vision has remained the same: Integrity, quality, and hard work. Since 1971, these have been the driving values behind the McLeRoy name.
Working closely with owners, developers and design professionals, McLeRoy provides expert general contracting, industrial and commercial construction services in the state of Georgia. They’re all about personalized service, ongoing and open communication, and unrivaled performance — all things we also try to go after here at MayeCreate, which really helped in the conception and creation of this new site.
First in our new website design, we established a color scheme that was less… well, tacky. Let’s be real, it was a big YUCK. So we toned things back to bring out the earth tones and kept the gold as more of a supporting role rather than the main actor.
The old home page featured just five elaborate buttons branded to each “branch” of McLeRoy: Construction, Realty, Heavy Civil, Rentals, and Land Development. At a glance, it felt like each button would lead to a separate website. And while separation and clarity of services is a good thing, we knew we could design something that felt more cohesive for the Home page.
We accomplished this by featuring all service-related services as buttons in a sub navigation. Now, all of these buttons lead to pages within the site that share the same design and layout to let visitors know they haven’t strayed from the McLeRoy website. It’s all about that security, sometimes, folks!
To fulfill McLeRoy’s online recruitment need, we built an application form and plopped a handy-dandy “Apply Now” button at the top of the Careers page for potential hires to easily find. When the form is completed, an email notification goes out to McLeRoy, which enables McLeRoy to respond quickly, thus increasing their chances of acquiring high-caliber staff members.
