Missouri Health Professions Consortium (MHPC) needed a website, one that would help them proudly display what they do in way that highlighted their hands-on atmosphere and was easy for people to use.
On top of their need for a new website, they were faced with another challenge: their location. MHPC is housed within the University of Missouri campus, but they don’t solely serve University of Missouri students. Man, what a conundrum!
Naturally, we MayeCreaters were excited to work with MHPC to build a website that would successfully portray their brand and story while serving as a useful online tool for their existing students, prospective students, and staff. (Let’s face it though, when aren’t we excited?!)
MHPC Consortium-based cooperative degree completion programs to help healthcare students on their paths to becoming a professional in the industry: Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). and Medical Lab Technician (MLT). As you’ll find on their About page, these programs are design to achieve four main goals:
1. To expand the supply of healthcare professionals for those who choose to live and work near their current homes
2. To establish mutually accepted baseline enrollment, retention, graduation and alumni/employer satisfaction rates
3. To expand the cooperative relationships between the clinical health employers and professionals, local community colleges, and the University of Missouri in Columbia
4. To enhance public/private partnerships that contribute to increased accessibility to higher education between the Missouri community colleges and the University of Missouri in Columbia
Students have the option to attend programs remotely and attend lab sessions on campus, making it the programs more accessible for those who are working or raising a family.
On the MHPC website you can find:
We also built a fun, interactive expanding and collapsing section answering commonly asked questions about MHPC’s OTA program.
Nifty!
Then through an embedded Google map on the Campus Finder page, the viewer can see where each program is offered and get driving directions to see how it is from their home.
Also nifty!
By utilizing non-University of Missouri colors and clearly outlining information in an organized layout, we helped MHPC portray the appropriate relationship they have with the University of Missouri and other local community colleges. The site features drop-downs as well as sub navigation on each page, further streamlining the intake of information for visitors.
Last but not least: photos! We displayed photos prominently – showing what classes within each program are like, hands-on demonstrations by teachers, a documentary-style video telling MHPC’s story, and photos of program graduates helping people in their newly-acquired jobs.
