Web & Print Design
Who does a small-but-mighty appraisal company with a solid reputation turn to when they’re looking to:
They come to MayeCreate Design to create something that will illustrate the all-encompassing-awesomeness of the work they do in Missouri and its surrounding states.
Moore & Shryock, originally founded by Allan J. Moore and Thomas Shryock over 35 years ago right here in CoMo, has evolved into the only Missouri-based firm outside of the metropolitan areas with three MAI (Member Appraisal Institute) designated members of the…well…I kinda gave it away…the Appraisal Institute…
So what does that mean? Basically, they’re the guys you want to talk to if you’re in need of an accurate and unbiased commercial, residential, or land appraisal in the state of Missouri and even in surrounding states.
The thing is, they already have an excellent reputation that more than precedes them, they just needed a website to reflect their position as some of the most highly-qualified and well-respected appraisers in the area. And let’s just say the website they had wasn’t doin’ the trick.
But as the popular saying goes around our office: Have no fear — MayeCreate is here!
As with any web design, we worked with Alan Moore and his team to create a design that well-suited the company’s branding, personality, and values. In this case, we developed a more understated yet polished look for the new website that would communicate the professionalism and success of this group of experienced appraisers. Given their elegant, albeit minimalist, logo, we opted for a color scheme that would compliment their branding without overpowering it, so we pulled the light gray from their logo and paired it with a subtle blue for an overall subdued color palette that’s reeeeeal easy on the eyes.
Keeping in mind the client’s goals for their new website, we aimed for greater ease of use in developing custom post types for the Appraisers section. What this means is that anyone at Moore & Shryock can login through WordPress (in other words — the back end of the website) and easily add items like new team members to the website, without having to do any pesky content formatting whatsoever.
That’s because these custom post types are built with the specific fields necessary for updating the website with the appraiser info while keeping it looking shiny and new! Once published, the new team member page will show up on the front end of the site looking like all the other team member pages without a single staff member knowing anything about web design or development. Adding new team members to website: streamlined.
What’s more is, these custom posts also include categories that can be selected for each appraiser to indicate what type of appraisals they do — commercial, farm and land, or residential. Then, when you look at the individual appraisal pages on the website, you’ll see the respective appraisers for each type listed at the bottom. Content placement on website: streamlined.
