Learn from and celebrate Unchained Melodies Dog Rescue’s creative peer-to-peer fundraising success. They exceeded their $25,000 year end fundraising goal on CoMoGives.com raising $33,705 during December 2020! And what’s even better is over half of the donations were generated by their volunteers running peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
Melody and a member of her Peer-to-Peer team, Kat, explain how they decided what to do, the new things they tried and what they’ll do differently next time. Learn more about how they managed their volunteers and even meet Charlie the rescue dog in this episode of Nonprofit Marketing with Purpose.
Cliff notes for using Peer to Peer Volunteers:
- You can’t start too Early – Volunteer are thinking about what they will do next year. Unchained Melodies started thinking about how they would approach their end of year giving campaign in July and started reaching out to peer to peer volunteers in August.
- Make it as easy as possible for your volunteers so they enjoy the experience. Take as much off their plate and let them choose one thing they want to do.
- Assemble a teem of volunteers to do admin work. They used Google Drive to manage many of the details especially Google Sheets. Admin and tech team handles all tech questions and concerns.
- Tap into their talents – They were blown away by all the talent in their volunteer group.
- Site Promotion: Let volunteers promote in way they they feel comfortable.
