Shelly Pagliai of Prairie Moon Quilts brings her love of quilting, cooking, ranching, and cowboy humor together in a charming website we originally designed and built for her in 2014. She draws in a ton of visitors through her website’s popular blog, where she shares her wisdom, expertise and musings. But as is often the case with a considerable flow of website traffic, Prairie Moon Quilts was facing a challenge: the site was outdated and was facing security issues.
When Shelly came to us for help, we were over the moon about working again with such an inspiring creative to find the perfect website solution for Prairie Moon Quilts!
Spreading the Love of Quilting
Prairie Moon Quilts is inspired by Prairie Moon Ranch, where blogger and quilter Shelly Pagliai bases her business. Shelly regularly updates her blog with posts featuring free quilting patterns, cooking tips, and the occasional cute farm animal. Prairie Moon Quilts even has a link to Shelly’s etsy shop where visitors can purchase her quilts.
Putting the Pieces Together
Since Prairie Moon Quilts already had fittingly fabulous words and images on the website, our challenge was migrating the content into an updated format without losing any text or pictures. We re-templated Shelly’s website to give it a fresh look and moved the site to a different hosting space to make it less vulnerable to hackers.
Now website visitors can enjoy the benefits of speedy navigation, and Shelly can rest easy at night knowing her site is updated and more secure. As an added bonus, subscribers to the Prairie Moon Quilts blog can now automatically receive emails with Shelly’s latest blog posts and updates via the newly integrated automated email system.
Prairie Moon Quilts’ new website includes the following features:
- Mobile Friendly Design – Adaptive Templates

- Custom WordPress Theme

By re-templating the website for Prairie Moon Quilts and moving it to a new hosting space, we updated the appearance and have helped to prevent future hackers from accessing blog subscribers’ information. - Automated Email Newsletters
With MailChimp’s automated email feature integrated into the Prairie Moon Quilts website, blog subscribers will automatically receive scheduled emails featuring Shelly’s latest blog posts, news and website updates.
