As some of you may already know, MayeCreate recently participated in the 2019 Annual MAPA Conference on January 15th & 16th. And, per usual, we had a friggin’ BLAST. See for yourself…
During the event, we got to talk to some awesome people — some we’d never met, others who are our clients. In the case of the latter, we actually got the chance to “talk shop” with Andy LaPlante at Interstate Testing about the Google Ad campaigns we created and manage for them! Networking and...well….regular...working? All at once! Plus, as always, there was some really cool equipment on the floor, which always gives us the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the machines and tools many of our clients use while they’re on the job.
With a Creative Director and Designer on the MayeCreate staff who are huge singing fanatics, what better way to celebrate all of the achievements Missouri’s asphalt paving companies than with a little karaoke?! We even recruited our designer’s twin sister so we could really bring the talent! From “Tennessee Whiskey” to “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” we think it’s safe to say many music genres were represented that night. Oh, and MVP for Participation goes to Andy Cook with Fred Weber! Also acting Chairman of MAPA’s Emerging Leaders, he volunteered as tribute and sacrificed himself for the greater good. Thank you, Andy!
Each year, the amazing asphalt companies in Missouri have a chance to win a MAPA Paving Award and be recognized for the quality work they do. Let’s just say there are some incredible contractors out there making some of the prettiest roads you’ve ever seen for state, county, and city municipalities throughout the state. Uber cool. There are even pictures to prove it...
Watch out 2020 MAPA Conference attendees and vendors -- we’re coming again next year, so get your singing voice ready and have your songs picked out! Maybe you’ll be named MVP on next year’s recap. 😉
At the conference, Monica gave a talk sharing insightful ways construction companies can bridge the hiring gap with Millennials. From the feedback we’ve received, she really drove the message home with the Baby Boomers and Millennials in the crowd, citing most importantly that these generations are actually quite similar — they just communicate differently. And... BREAKING NEWS: Monica realized belatedly that she forgot to tell her favorite joke about Millennials and Boomers so she decided to shoot a video with it, you don’t want to miss this doozie.
