MayeCreate’s Marketing with Purpose podcasts are a collection of interviews and advice to support small businesses, nonprofits and commercial construction companies make marketing decisions with purpose. Some episodes are shared to all audiences while others are specifically distributed in their niche. Your interview will build awareness for your organization as well as help others solve problems without learning the hard way! Thank you for contributing your experience.
Podcast FAQ
Interviews at typically 20-45 min. It depends on how it all goes really. We book interviews in a one hour slot to make sure we can troubleshoot any tech challenges if we need to and also stay flexible in the length of our discussion.
We’ll work through the agreed upon questions and topics and if it takes 20 minutes that’s OK, if it takes an hour that’s OK too. We can talk for the amount of time it takes to share the information. Some listeners appreciate a short podcast while others prefer a longer episode. We prefer a quality conversation and a story we can learn from rather than a tight time constraint.
First, your host (Monica or Stacy) will ask you to introduce yourself and share about what you do. Then from there we’ll focus on questions that help explain the problem you solved, your area of expertise, or your marketing/business journey. So questions will be different for each interview. But don’t worry! A list of questions will be emailed to you about a week before the interview date so you can prepare if you like.
Nope. Actually, please don’t. We record the interviews using RingCentral (it’s like Zoom). This gives us a digital recording of the conversation via video and separate audio tracks to convert into our podcasts.

Absolutely! Marketing is all about teamwork. The stories of supporting team members are important and valuable.
Having said that, sometimes having a whole room of voices can become overwhelming in a podcast. So consider picking up to two additional team members to join you to keep the conversation easy to follow for listeners.
If you want to share the advice of more team members, then by all means ask for their opinions and bring a quote or two to share!
We’re flexible humans. So if one of the times on the calendar doesn’t work for you just let us know. Our goal is to record in bulk to save time on setting up and testing recording equipment. But that doesn’t mean we’re not willing to make an exception!

- Join via desktop computer with a lined internet connection if possible (not wifi)
- If you only have wifi that’s OK too if needed
- Don’t use a cell phone unless it’s a last resort
- Wearing head phones can reduce audio feedback
- Set up in a quiet space away from other people having conversations
- If your dogs tend to bark consider the best location for them during the interview
- You can test or switch your microphone or speakers by clicking the up arrow next to the MUTE button in the lower left corner
- Join via desktop computer with a lined internet connection if possible (not wifi)
- If you only have wifi that’s OK too if needed
- Don’t use a cell phone unless it’s a last resort
- If possible face your light source. For example, sit facing the window, not away so your face is well lit
- Consider your background, make sure it’s clean and doesn’t share any details about you that you don’t want others to know!
- If your dogs tend to bark consider the best location for them during the interview
- You can test or switch your video source by clicking the up arrow next to the STOP VIDEO button in the lower left corner
After we’re all done my team will turn our interview into a podcast and cut short video clips to share on social media. We’ll share on our website, via email, social media and also distribute it through our podcast feeds.
