How often do you really look at someone’s shoes? Yet, what’s on your feet can make you feel complete!

HOKA

My whole life I always wore uncomfortable shoes – either because they were cheap or because they looked better than they felt. But until recently, I had no idea what I had been missing the whole time.  I figured expensive tennis shoes were just expensive because they had a popular brand logo on them and/or slightly better materialโ€ฆ but I never imagined that certain shoes could actually FEEL better and help prevent future dysfunction for your feet and back.  It all changed when my wife was looking for comfortable tennis shoes for her feet due to her own foot problems.  As she tried on some of the higher-end models from brands like Brooks, New Balance, Saucony and Asics, she convinced me to try some for myself.

Initially, I fell in love with Brooks shoes. Then I tried On Cloud and began swearing by those. Then when I was returning some On Clouds that didnโ€™t quite fit right, someone at Fleet Feet brought me some HOKAs to try. As soon as I tried them on and stood up to walk, I wondered where these shoes had been my whole life.ย  Nothing has ever been so cushy – like walking with pillows strapped to your feet.ย  I havenโ€™t had sore feet from standing or walking ever since.ย  Yeah, I have to plan to spend more when itโ€™s time to get a new pair, but itโ€™s one of the few things I am willing to splurge on.ย  I feel like I deserve these after a lifetime of sore feet. (How on earth did the Dutch ever wear wooden shoes – and would you believe they’re still being made??)

Slide-On Shoes

I love a good pair of slide-onsโ€ฆ and by โ€œgoodโ€ pair, I mean cute! I have about 6 different styles of slide-on shoes that I wear to work and for running errands. Whether itโ€™s leopard or plain gray, you can find me sporting these trendy Mom shoes on the daily. The best part? Many times I can fit into the kid sizes and spend all of about $15 on them!

Reebok

I LOVE SHOES! All types of them. From working out shoes to dress shoes. The ones I wear the most are the Rebook Nanos. They are comfortable to wear as everyday footwear but also to work out. I feel like I am getting my money’s worth when I buy a pair because of how much I can use it for.

Dr. Martens

Docs are my friend. Really any heavy duty boot. Good ankle support, a few inches to my height, durable, andย fashionable.

But I happen to have these pair of pastel rainbow sparkle Doctor Martens, and while I can’t wear them often, they are myย faveย shoe that I own. Much Sparkle, Very Shine

Converse

I have too many shoes, and Iย LOVEย them all, but my Converse will always be my number one. While I have a variety of styles from the classic All Stars to the more fun Lite slip-ons, but my absolute favorite pair are my velvet platform One Stars.ย

Highly recommend getting a pair of platform sneakers. Not only are they as comfy as regular ones, you get about two inches of extra height for stomping around like you own the place.

Chacos

I have a problem with buying shoes. I think theyโ€™re the best way to spice up any outfit, but hands down my go-to shoe has always beenย Chacos. As someone who spends a lot of time running around outdoors, getting messy, and jumping in puddles whenever possible, Chacos provide the arch support and durability I need. Theyโ€™re waterproof, can be worn with socks in the chilly months, and areย customizable. Theyโ€™re a bit pricier than your average Jesus joggers, but last forever with the right care. And if you end up splitting the soles, Chaco willย repairย your sandals to have them looking and feeling like new.

Chucks or Vans

To start, I’ve been working from home since 2014 (quarantine hipster I know). So I mostly either go barefoot or house shoes 99% of the time. If I am going out and need to wear shoes, I’ll probably wear Chucks or Vans. I have a pair with a pretty loud pattern on it. Other than that, if I’m at the gym I wear either squat shoes or Notorious deadlift slippers.

Sketchers / Slip-Ons

My brother finally talked me into getting some laceless, slip on shoes and it was the best decision Iโ€™ve ever made. I was an idiot for the longest time to not realize the luxury of not having to tie your shoes. Plus, the Sketchers I wear are really comfortable and somewhat stylish and for those reasons, I think I will be sticking to slip on shoes going forward.
