Content Development

You're awesome. Your copy? Not so much.

You stick to what you’re awesome at. We’ll write about it in a way that actually makes you sound awesome.

Here’s the deal: Writing about your own business is like trying to explain why you’re funny – the harder you try, the worse it gets. You know you’re awesome, but every time you sit down to write, you sound like a robot having an identity crisis.

Sure, you could use AI to write your copy. And end up sounding like everyone else with a ChatGPT account โ€” a slight upgrade to โ€˜well educated robotโ€™. HUGE change, right?

But what if someone could take whatever you’ve got โ€” your jumbled thoughts, your AI attempts, your bullet points, whatever โ€” and transform it into something so YOU that you can’t believe you didn’t write it yourself? That, my friend, is the magic of professional content development.

You give us what youโ€™ve got. We write the copy. You sound like the awesome sauce you are.

ENTER: THE TRANSLATION SERVICE

We’re basically professional mind readers with mad typing skills.

You know what you do and why it’s awesome โ€“ we just figure out how to say it so everyone else knows it too. And we fully reserve the right to make you realize you’re even more awesome than you thought.

Copy that doesnโ€™t make people run away.

Content that actually sounds like you on a really good day:

  • Words that actually connect with your audience
Website copy that doesn’t sound robotic, brochures people actually want to read โ€“ copy that sounds like YOU, not generic, polite, robotic corporate speak.
  • Copy that gets results
Whether you need more leads, sales, donations, or sign-ups, we write with your goals in mind. Pretty words are nice, but words that work are better.
  • Someone who gets your story right
We ask the right questions, create a plan, and make sure your personality shines through โ€“ because people want to work with the human they feel a connection with behind the organization, not some bland over promising marketing vomit.
  • Messaging that ties it all together
So your website, business cards, and proposal templates all sound like they came from the same professional, well-organized business (even if your desk says otherwise).

Who We Awesome-ify

Sitting down to write website copy is somewhere between “organize my sock drawer” and “clean the garage” on your priority list. You’re too close to your own business to explain it clearly anyway.

Skip the Writing Torture >

You’re changing the world, but explaining your impact in a way that gets people to open their wallets? That’s a whole different skill set. You stare at a blank page for three hours, write two paragraphs, delete one of them, and wonder why you didn’t just hire someone in the first place.

Tell Your Story Right >

You can build a house from the ground up or pave a road from scratch, but describing why someone should work for or hire you makes you want to hide in your truck. Your brochure says one thing, your website says another, and your business cards are from 2019.

Get Back to Work >

You’ve got 47 projects going and the website copy deadline is tomorrow. Generic template copy makes you sound like every other business in your industry, but your personality is what makes people want to work with you.

Get Help That Gets It >

You’re juggling a million member needs, planning events, and somehow supposed to explain why membership is worth it. That’s like trying to please your entire extended family at Thanksgiving.

We've Got This >

First, we need to hear your voice.

Good news: we do this in our sales meeting anyway. We’re not actually mind readers, but we’re pretty good at figuring out what makes you tick and how you talk about your work.

Then we get the info out of your head.

This is where it gets fun (for us, anyway). We have several ways to extract your awesome:

  • Start from existing text โ€“ Maybe you wrote something but it sounds like a robot. Or maybe it sounds like the old you. We edit and work our magic.
  • Give us random phrases and bulleted lists โ€“ We send you questions, you answer in whatever format works (voice memos, notes, interpretive dance), and we turn it into something that makes sense.
  • We interview you โ€“ We hop on a call and basically interrogate you until we understand your business better than your accountant.
  • Record yourself talking โ€“ For the people who prefer talking to typing, we send questions, you record your answers. We get your voice, literally.
  • Send us all your sales materials โ€“ Brochures, presentations, sales training manuals, that proposal you wrote last month โ€“ we’ll read it all and figure out the good stuff.

We write it, you read it, we edit it.

The โ€˜you read itโ€™ part is pretty important here. We want to make sure we got it right. Then, after itโ€™s all done and revised then we can build it into your website or you can use it however you want. We’re not possessive.

Let's Talk >
  • Yay, MayeCreate – you helped make that happen!

The Community Foundation of Central Missouri, we really do love MayeCreate. They’ve been so very helpful to us. They designed our very first website and then they helped us envision and create the website for CoMoGives…. MayeCreate not only does the website for us each year, but they also train us and they train all the participating organizations as well in being better marketers and users of social media platforms. Through ComoGives alone, we’ve raised millions of dollars in donations during our CoMoGives campaigns and all I can say is “Yay, MayeCreate – you helped make that happen!”

    They respond quickly.

MayeCreate has been one of our longest and best business relationships. The entire staff is very personable and they respond quickly to any questions we might have about WordPress or adjustments to any part of our site.

  • MayeCreate helped us have a nice, professional website.

MayeCreate helped us have a nice, professional website–and it has really paid off. They’ve also helped us manage it from a security standpoint; the SSL security and all the things that you have to do so that you don’t get hacked. If you’re serious about being an organization, those things really help.
