Having spent several years with another company offering his expertise in structural engineering, Bryan Clapper decided it was time to start a business of his own. With over a decade of experience designing hundreds of homes, buildings and bridges, he founded Clapper Structural Engineering in Saugerties, NY to provide effective and innovative yet practical engineering solutions in the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas.

Designing a Creative & Effective Online Structure

As his new business grew, Bryan Clapper recognized his need for a professional-looking structure online. In other words, he needed a website to creatively and effectively share his Clapper Structural projects, a website to appeal to architects, one they could easily find and use to reach out to Bryan. That’s when he came to us. And naturally, we were all about designing and building him something as innovative and solid as the structures his company designs.

Transparency, Functionality & Personality

The overall transparent look of the site was “really fun,” as our designer put it. This, combined with a navy, blue and gold color scheme, gives the website a very legit vibe. The stunning full-height imagery on each page plays into this tool, doubling as both the background and the header image, which grandly illustrates the magnitude of what Clapper Structural Engineering does.

Content is skill king…

That said, Bryan, like many of our clients, relied on us to draft up some fresh and engaging content for their Home, About, and Structural Engineering pages, thus allowing us do what we do best so the crews at Clapper could continue focusing on what they do best.

But it’s not just about pretty words, it’s about providing a well-organized and easy-to-read layout to add emphasis to the competitive advantages Clapper brings to the structural engineering industry. The Home and About pages use white call-out boxes to highlight important information and help break up text. We also used building-like call-to-action buttons on the Structural Engineering page to categorize Clapper’s capabilities by industry, which makes finding specifics much easier for website visitors.

Oh, the wonders of the online portfolio…

Additionally, we built in a Projects section Clapper can use to effectively showcase the work they’ve done. Images from each project they’ve completed are displayed in a grid-like format with the project name and location shown underneath. When clicked, these images lead page visitors to individual project pages with more information to help keep visitors on their site longer, which really impresses the Google gods.

What’s even cooler is it’s really easy for Bryan to update Clapper’s online portfolio with new projects. Because…well, we use WordPress. And WordPress is awesome.

    Clapper Structural’s website is enrolled in our Company Safe Site Plan, meaning we’ve enhanced the site in an effort to offensively protect it from hackers. We backup the site daily, maintain regular WordPress and plugin updates, monitor site activity and link function.

 

• • Updates & Ongoing Maintenance
    It’s imperative to keep content fresh with regular updates to keep clients and prospects interested. With their website completed, we help Clapper stay on top of their game by performing requested updates and changes to the website as requested.

 

• • Custom Portfolio Section
    This new website features a Portfolio section Clapper can use to showcase their amazing abilities as well as their reach across the Hudson Valley area. Viewers can easily navigate between projects to see more examples of Clapper’s structural engineering experience.

 

• Content Development
  Clapper Structural Engineering specializes in structural design, which typically doesn’t involve mad writing skills, so Bryan relied on us to assist with content development for his new website. Through content planning and extensive interviews, we developed and polished a marketing message to project Clapper’s true culture and help turn prospects into leads.
